1. Crum, who was part Native American and part African American, was proud of his cooking. He also had a temper like a volcano. If someonedidn't like his food, he didn't just give them something else. He would make something so awful that the person might even get up and leave the lodge.

2. One day, an important customer came into Moon Lake Lodge to eat. Some people say it was Cornelius "Commodore" Vanderbilt, a famous millionaire. He tasted Chef Crum's French fries and frowned. To him the fries were like sponges-not crunchy enough. He sent them back to the kitchen.
3. Chef Crum's temper was heating up. "Not crunchy enough? We'll see about that." The chef cooked another batch of fries and sent them out to Vanderbilt.
4. When Chef Crum saw the plate, he finally exploded. "I'll show that Vanderbilt a thing or two!" He sliced another batch of potatoes as thin as paper. You could almost see through each slice. He fried the potatoes until they were golden and crispy. You couldn't eat these fries with a fork-they would break.
Write an advertisement for the opening of Chef Crum's new restaurant. You can give the restaurant a name and make up an address for it.
